Obolus

My friends over at Manic Euphoria recently posted this gem. I really liked it, so I decided to post it as well. This is the first demo from a new band called Obolus, who formed just this year. They play a faster-paced version of Depressive Black Metal similar to Anti or Nyktalgia, and at times, the riffing reminds me of Elysian Blaze. The production is that fuzzy lo-fi affair we all know and love, and the atmosphere is suffocating, but in a good way. Overall, this is a brilliant start, and I eagerly await their future releases. My only problem is that it's too short; there are only two songs, and the album clocks in at just seven minutes.
