I adore this album so fucking much. Thantifaxath is a brand new Black Metal band from Toronto who released their self-titled EP just last year. I wasn't expecting much, but when I listened to it, I was absolutely blown away. This album is a maelstrom of ultra-heavy bass, rampaging drums, discordant guitars, and angry Emperor-inspired vocals, but amidst all of this, there is a strong sense of melody, like the calm in the eye of the storm. After listening to this nearly a dozen times, I am eagerly pumped for their next release. I just hope it's sometime soon.
