Ythogtha's "False Faith" is one nasty, disgusting album. The distortion is cranked to Pyha levels, thus making the music sound like the construct of Lovecraftian horrors. I cannot adequately describe the craziness and ferocity of this album. I think the album cover itself describes the sound the best. It will feel like a million worms eating you alive.

Guerre et Gloire

I haven't listened to Forteresse or Csejthe, but if Ephemer is any indication, they must be awesome. Ephemer is a supergroup of sorts that plays a mid-paced blend of Black Metal that includes great melody and clean vocals. This demo is pretty short; 4 songs lasting 15 minutes. I just hope they release a full-length soon so I can really get a taste of them.

Better to Die On Your Feet Than Live On Your Knees

This morning, I discovered that Google classified my review site, The Autistic Metalhead, as an "attack site". This was strange, because I don't ever remember there being any spyware on there. I figured that this was a false positive created by the ads generated by adsense, so I removed those ads and within a few hours, my site was no longer classified as an attack site. I'm still poor and need to find a way to make money doing what I love, so I'm trying to get a paypal donate button on my review site.
Now that we got those issues out of the way, let's talk about one of my favorite grindcore albums of this year, Better To Die On Your Feet Than Live On Your Knees by Liberteer. Ever since the economy went down the shitter, there have been more and more metal bands espousing anarchist ideologies. The first one to receive a great of attention in the underground was Panopticon. Now we have Liberteer, which was formed by Matt Widener of Cretin. Aside from the weird inclusion of instruments such as trumpets and banjos, this is a blistering, furious attack on your ear drums. Some people have classified this album as "hipster shit", but I don't give a shit what they think. I don't give a shit about being "tr00" or "kvlt" either. I only care about posting great music, and this is great music. It's strangely uplifting and inspirational. This is the kind of album you'll listen to before you go out to destroy the corrupt institutions that plague our world. Burn down the entire fucking system!

Post Abortion Lust

I'm not going to mince words here: Vicious Bastard will fuck you up. No, seriously. Vicious Bastard will fuck you up. They will punch your dick off and shit down your throat. Post Abortion Lust is grindcore at its absolute finest: pure aural violence. There ain't no bullshitting on this album. Listen or die, monkey fuckers!

Purulent Jacuzzi

Purulent Jacuzzi is an ultra crazy goregrind band from Russia who released two EPs I really love, Stench of the Drowned Carrion and Vanished in the Cosmic Futility. The bass is stupidly heavy, the snare is that goregrind tin can we all know and love, the riffs are as thick as chunky salsa, and they even manage to squeeze in some weedly-weedly for good measure.

Ode to Death

No, I didn't abandon you guys. I was just busy reuploading my favorite albums. I still need to get my posting schedule in order, but I will tide you over with one of the most beautiful metal songs ever recorded: Melankoli's "Ode to Death". The atmosphere is cold yet romantic, the guitars are solemn and heartfelt, and there are even fantastic clean vocals at the halfway point. I wish I could favorite this song a thousand times. Even better, you can download it for free on their Last.fm page.

Azimuths To The Otherworld

Mediafire deleted my files. Again. At this point, I'm like, "You know what? Fuck Mediafire. I'm moving to Depositfiles." So I did. It may take forever to upload a file to Depositfiles, but at least they're not total pansies who cower before the wrath of the government. Anyway, here is Nechochwen's Azimuths To The Otherworld. They play Black Metal with great melody and solos, but at their heart, they are a neofolk/ambient band that focuses on Native American mythology. This album is a thing of transcendental beauty, and I wish they would release a new full-length in the future.

How's it coming along?

A change of plans. I've decided to only reupload my most favorite albums and the most obscure albums that you can't find anywhere else. Sorry about that. Anyway, here is my file sharing system. You remember back during the peer to peer days when everyone would spell Metallica as "Metallicock" in order to avoid the eyes of the law? What I'm doing is pretty similar. Sometimes I'll remove all the vowels (XTHST). Sometimes I'll shorten it to just the initials (DON-TSIOF). Sometimes I'll spell it backwards (rytalA). And sometimes I'll intentionally misspell stuff (DerpMountens). Tomorrow's post will be about newhcohceN. Stay tuned!

I will not go gently into that good night.

It has come to my attention that Mediafire deleted all of my files. Will I throw in the towel like so many metal blogs before me? No. I will stand defiant. I will march on. I will persevere. All the little kiddies playing pretend may have packed up their toys and gone home, but some of us music pirates have beards as black as our banners. If Mediafire deletes all of my files, I'll just reupload them, this time using more cryptic file names. The reuploading process will be long and tedious, so you won't get any new posts for awhile.
Bleeding the Humans

While Gore Bash was an upbeat, groovy affair, Venereal Messiah is more brutal and merciless. The vocalist sounds like a beast from depths infernal, the drums will chop you up into mincemeat, the bass is pulverizing, and some of the guitar riffs sound downright apocalyptic. This album is perfect for those times when you're butchering the victims you keep in your basement.

Gore Bash

GRRRGRRGRGRRGRGRRRRRGRGRGRRRRRR! Gore Bash proves that goregrind is far from dead. They combine the upbeat grooviness of Cock And Ball Torture with the pitch shifted roars of Last Days Of Humanity. The riffs are thick and juicy and the bass is ridiculously heavy. The best part about all of this is that the band is offering up their works for free. This means you won't be breaking any international laws by downloading them!

Lament

HOLY SHIT FUCK YEAH! Obolus, one of the best new bands of last year, just released a new EP called Lament! The best part? It's even better than the demo! The production is better, the musicianship is better, the atmosphere is even more soul-crushing, and the vocals are even more agonizing. You better believe that I'll be playing this repeatedly. However, the free download will only be up for a limited time, so you better get it at their bandcamp while you can!

Ah Dzam Poop Ek

Xibalba is one of Mexico's first Black Metal bands; they formed all the way back in 1992. Just a few months after Mayhem released the legendary De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, Xibalba released their own masterpiece, the hilariously named Ah Dzam Poop Ek. Despite the funny name, this album is amazing. Compared to their contemporaries in Norway, Xibalba brand of Black Metal is more mid-tempo and upbeat and the infectious riffs they play have this classic metal feel to them. They also include some ancient Mayan tribal music to give it that unique twist.
